MISSION
EMPOWERMENT OF THE POOR AND THE MARGINALIZED, WOMEN, CHILDREN AND THE OPPRESSED TO GAIN THEIR DIGNITY
The aim of the society is to reach out and perform works of charity for those in need, irrespective of race, caste, community or creed. In the field of social service it undertakes various activities aimed at improving the living conditions and general welfare of the poor and the indigent people. The society is also willing to cooperate with other agencies and societies or persons with similar objectives and to coordinate all activities that are of humanitarian, charitable, educational, social and moral purposes.
SJVS has a committed and competent staff, which is given proper training from time to time. The program management is participatory at planning, monitoring, implementation and evaluation stages. SJVS directs its activities in such a way that they should be life preserving, liberative and not to maintain the status quo.
It actively works with the local people to facilitate the socio-economic development, education and health care of the people. It encourage non-formal education for the children community health centers, saving schemes, formation of mahila mandals (Women’s Associations) and Self Help Groups (SHGs) and other income generating programs etc.
SJVS is situated in the most backward area in the southern part of Rajasthan, in Banswara district, dominated by the Bhils. The society also works in other six civil districts of Rajasthan. The Bhils are the largest Tribal group of India and yet are neglected and are at the low stage in the ladder of development. SJVS strives for the development and the upliftment of these poor people. It tries to find out the problems faced by the poor in their struggle for a life of dignity, justice and economic well being. It is ought to be noted here that the above acts are not for profitable or gainful ends.
